The Massachusetts Legal Services Diversity Coalition, part of the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC), created the Diversity Action Plan to establish a roadmap and guide for statewide and local diversity efforts in Massachusetts over the next three years (2003-2006).  The Diversity Action Plan is a culmination of efforts by the Massachusetts Legal Serivces Diversity Coalition to assess diversity in legal services in Massachusetts and create a goal oriented action plan with concrete steps to achieve these goals. The Plan was developed collaboratively with: the Massachusetts Project Directors, the programs? Affirmative Action Officers, the Attorneys of Color group, and coordinated by the Diversity Coalition Steering Committee.  The goals outlined in the plan are:

1.      Build an Organizational Culture, Values, and Structure that Support Diversity

2.      Create Leadership/Career Development Opportunities for Underrepresented Groups

3.      Recruit, Hire, and Retain a More Diverse Staff

4.      Build Partnerships with Diverse Communities
